Thanks for the kind words, Delaware County Times! Check out this great article about our Social Media efforts:
Every morning, starting as early as 2 a.m., Tracy Davidson hosts a video, or three, about the Channel 10 morning team preparing for its day. The pieces can be topical, showing how Bill Henley is checking data to report exactly how cold it might get or, geared toward personality, depicting the camaraderie of Channel 10’s morning crew as they labor in the early morning hours when most of us are asleep.
Usually, Davidson or her morning colleague, Vai Sikahema, walk viewers through the set and explain what is going on. Their vignettes give the type of insider’s view that is appealing to audiences. I have always found that if you want to engage people in a campaign or project, the best way to get a response is to take them behind the scenes. Each morning video involves the process Channel 10’s anchors and reporters use to get ready to go on at 4:30 a.m. that day.
Davidson’s co-anchor, Chris Cato, is always included in the videos and usually has something to say. Weather scout Henley and traffic reporter Jillian Mele are often seen. One vignette last week featured reporter Matt DeLucia planning to go out in the frigid cold (to experience and report firsthand on what we could learn by opening our doors or looking at our heating bills.) Cold was also the subject of Davidson’s solo installment Friday when she placed a bowl of water inside NBC 10’s garage to see if it would freeze and took the time to tell viewers to look after seniors and others who may have trouble coping with the Arctic blasts.
